Buntu presently heads up the day-to-day running of all 4 dojos in the townships.
He is the current South African senior champion.
He was the first black man to participate in the famous Warrior Week that is held in Japan every two years , where the strongest warriors from around Africa participate in 7 days of gruelling training where students get exposed to not only the physical aspect of karate but most importantly, the mental and spiritual part of the art, in the form of prayer and waterfall training during the cold winter months.
Buntu Sensei graded to his 5th dan while attending this prestigious event in January 2019.
He currently sits on the board of African Warriors of Light and is a shining example to all township students young and old.
